另外，-e前为元音（u除外）时，-e也应保留，如：

如果-e前面为元音字母为u，则-e要去掉：pursue—pursuing

动词是闭音节的单音节词，或是以重读闭音节结尾的多音节词，末尾只有一个辅音字母时，这个辅音字母须双写，然后再加-ING。如：

少数几个以-IE结尾的单音节动词，须变IE为y，再加-ING，如：
